Student Testimonials
Rita Andrade: My experience with Sarita Mishra began when I brought her to Brazil for the first time in 2015. It was a remarkable experience for me and for the students who attended the courses she taught. Since then, this great master has been in my country for another 4 consecutive years, teaching classes and performing unforgettable presentations.
Her solid training and experience in teaching this art form makes her classes full of technical rigor, but also lightness due to the way she understands what each of her students needs, intervening in a very specific, attentive and careful way in each gesture and movement we make. A very dedicated and experienced teacher who knows how to integrate rigor, lightness, discipline and care for her students very well. We left each of her classes feeling great and always motivated to learn more and more. Her generosity in making us understand the technique and theoretical repertoire that underpins Odissi fills me with immense gratitude for all the knowledge I gained under your guidance.
Patricia Salgado: I'm Patricia from Barcelona, a long-time student of Sarita. Studying with her has been a pleasure over the years. Sarita possesses extensive knowledge and experience in teaching. Her English is flawless, which greatly aids in understanding the theoretical aspects of this dance form. She is disciplined and demanding, yet always maintains a positive attitude and a warm smile. I wholeheartedly recommend her school and teaching methodology – a 100% endorsement.
Colleena Shakti: A loving, vibrant community of dance!! I had the great privilege to visit Bangalore and take classes with Saritaji. What I got from my interactions with her have been invaluable to my progress as a dancer. She is both open minded and supportive , while having an absolute firm clarity in Odissi technique and its broader context as a classical dance being performed in these contemporary times. Her critical insights into the Abhinaya I learned were not imposing, but empowered me to use my own imagination and life experiences to find my own authenticity. I also had the chance to witness some of the rehearsal to stage process of the Adyasha group for their annual show. The intensity of the rehearsal was matched with smiles, the comradery of the group was present in the powerful synchronicity of the performance. I whole heartedly recommend Adyasha Foundation as a premiere institute of Odissi dance.
Ana Laura Fernandez: Saritaji is a wonderful dancer and a very sweet but also challenging teacher. I had the privilege of taking classes with her both in Buenos Aires (Argentina) and in Bangalore and I cherish every moment spent with her. She is eager to patiently share her knowledge even with students who grew far away from the Indian culture and achieves to successfully convey the beauty of Odissi. I am always grateful!

It’s one of the foremost Odissi classical dance institutes in India. Our Guru , Sarita Mishra is a very inspirational and talented teacher who focuses on overall development of the students. Apart from imparting the best technical education for this classical art form, she helps us improve our physical fitness, flexibility and also focuses on emotional well being.
The best part is that - Kids and adults of all ages are part of the learning experience and this cohort encourages and helps all of us become better.
Suprita Krishna: Being a part of Sarita’s Odissi Dance class has been, and continues to be a wonderful and enriching experience for my twin daughters and me. Sarita is a wonderful dancer with an incredible sense of detail in dance, and as a teacher she looks at each student holistically and patiently, allowing us the space and time to find our own rhythm, in a firm manner, and supports each student in specific ways suitable to that persons journey. All in all, Adyasha Foundation has brought to us many things.... This wonderful dance form.... The warmth of a helpful group of lovely people of diverse ages in the class... And above all a teacher who inspires us constantly by sharing her knowledge in ways that are completely engaging and unique.

I could not have asked for a better Guru. She strives towards excellence in her students not only in the art form of dance but also in the overall betterment as a human being which is definitely equally important. Being one of her first few students, and growing in her company, I have realized that my journey with her has turned me from a timid young girl to an independent confident young woman which I am so very grateful for. Lalitha Chandramoorthy: Teachers can be educators, mentors, and/or instructors. But when you have a teacher/guru who has the love of learning and love of learners , then you are at the best place of learning. For me, Adyasha foundation is a happy, vibrant- positive space, where I learn from everyone - right from its founder, Guru Smt Sarita Mishra ( didi, as I fondly call her) to the little ones. Anahita Ganjoo: Sarita ma'am has been teaching me since 2014, and despite my taking many breaks for my studies, didi has always encouraged me to perform and continue dancing. After coming to her from a different guru, she gave me a platform to perform solo for the first time. Ma'am has been patient with me, she has a keen eye and always corrects mistakes.
She has been flexible and welcoming with whatever I had going on and continues to encourage me to practice and perform Odissi.
